East Area I - A Voter Approved, Fiscally Sound, Community

The LAFco hearing on Santa Paula East Area I's annexation was rescheduled to March 16th at the request of the City of Santa Paula.  The Ventura County LAFCo Staff issued a 54 page  staff report 3 days prior to the previously scheduled hearing which contained a number of inaccuracies and misrepresentations.  Santa Paula City Staff and the project team are diligently working on a response report that will be delivered to the LAFCo staff and directly to LAFCo Commissioners. This response will address all of the outstanding questions from  the LAFCo staff along with showing where the information was previously provided. Santa Paula's Mayor and City Manager will then meet with each LAFCo Commissioner to explain the responses and answer any additional questions. Our project team fully  expects that the LAFco Commissioners will request that LAFCo's Executive Director meet with Santa Paula City Planning Staff and issue a revised LAFCo staff report with changes.

The outcome of the March 16h hearing  is vital to the future of the new Santa Paula East Area I community development and for Santa Paula's economic development.

Please show your support by attending this hearing.

Limoneira Lemons Provide The Tangy Zip For Hot Dog On A Stick Lemonade

Hot Dog On A Stick hats off to our Limoneira Lemon Sales team. Limoneira Lemons are now used for their great tasting lemonade at all of their locations.

An American icon since 1946, Hot Dog on a Stick began as an entrepreneurial dream on the beaches of Southern California. It has flourished into an organization of over 100 stores in 11 states.

Dave Barham opened his first store in 1946 on the beach in Santa Monica, and the location was originally called Party Puffs. This original location changed to Hot Dog on a Stick, and is still selling sizzling hot dog on a stick and fresh, delicious lemonade to beachgoers today.

Dave's first products were ice cream cones and lemonade. Then, using his mom's delicious cornbread recipe, Dave perfected the hot dog on a stick! Next, he took these products on the road and started selling them at the county fairs. Dave hooked up portable hot dog stands to his Lincoln Continental and introduced fairgoers to Hot Dog on a Stick.

The fair atmosphere is where he perfected his lemonade and created his pride and joy, the uniforms! After trying polka dots and berets, straw hats and knee length shorts, Dave finally decided on our present day uniform of stripes and the hat! He called it "red, white and blue, with a splash of lemonade!"

Hot Dog on a Stick is celebrity favorite (Teri Hatcher, Ben Affleck and Quenton Tarintino are just a few who love that great HDOS recipe)  and  Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu showed their Hot Dog on a Stick stripes by wearing the iconic uniforms in Charlie's Angels.

Windfall Farms Updated Web Site

Limoneira's Windfall Farm's breathtaking setting combined with the world class facilities have the potential to become an exclusive agricultural estate community in the heart of the Central Coast Wine Country  (Marlize van Romburgh's  article in the Pacific Coast Business Times from last October explains it nicely).  Wine is becoming a very big deal on the Central Coast. Henry Dubroff, editor of the PCBT waxed poetic about the recent purchase of Paso Robles based Justin Vineyards and Winery by Stewart and Lynda Resnick's Roll International investment vehicle and mentioned Windfall Farm's appeal for "its potential to grow wine grapes and future ability to subdivide the property into dozens of smaller estates". Three  estate neighborhoods are envisioned around the existing facilities while continuing the horse farm operation- The Steeples,  Rolling Hills and Creston Ridge.  An updated Windfall Farms website has been designed to communicate the vision behind these estate properties.

Windfall Farms is a spectacular 724-acre horse farm with one of the finest equestrian facilities in the Western United States. The farm was initially developed as the only Kentucky-style thoroughbred farm in California. It is currently operated as a horse training and boarding facility with an extensive farming operation.  Underlying Windfall Farms is a subdivision consisting of 76 lots of approximately 10 acres each. This subdivision was recorded in 1921 with unconditional certificates of compliance in place which offers a variety of development opportunities. Groups of lots totaling 40 acres and larger can currently be sold. At the end 2012 all existing lots can be sold individually.
