Meet the MMAMTA Vice-President
Meet violinist Renan Leme, whose musical education began in Brazil and brought him to Mizzou to pursue his Master's degree. About music, he says: "Music is one of the greatest loves of my life and I consider myself very fortunate to have it as my profession. Making music is for me both a joy and a responsibility, and I work hard to offer you the best performance and service." We are thrilled to welcome Renan to MMAMTA as the newly appointed VP!

Plowman Pre-Collegiate Master Class
Make the best out of the Plowman Chamber Music Competition & Festival! This biennial national event invites international guest artists to judge the nationally selected ensembles, and this year, we have violinist Ida Kavafian and pianist Wei-Yi Yang giving master classes at MU on Friday, March 22 at 12-2pm and 2-4pm respectively. Selected pre-collegiate students will be expected to attend the full 2-hour class.

2019 MMAMTA Musicathon
Get involved in our annual Spring Fundraiser! Many of us benefit from performing in public a week before the Federated Jr Festival auditions. The funds raised benefit MMAMTA programs like scholarship auditions, fall workshop, master classes, and concerto competition, but also community humanitarian non-profits. This year, Columbia's fundraiser will benefit Volunteer Action Center, and Jefferson City fundraiser the Samaritan Center.

MMAMTA Spring Luncheon!
Come hungry! Our next meeting on May 23, Thursday at 11am will take place in Columbia's "Your Pie," located at 1413 Grindstone Plaza Dr, 65201. This meeting is typically the more festive one; usually as many as 25 teachers will gather to catch up and celebrate the end of the academic year, and discuss events of the following year. Hope you can join us!
