Shows & Exhibits

Renée Caisse

Ashburnham, MA

Renée Caisse, a senior at Oakmont Regional High School and resident of Westminster, was the inaugural Young Artist Spotlight at Stevens Memorial Library in Ashburnham during the month of January. Her paintings were on view on the main floor in the fiction wing. This was the first showcase of student art through a new collaboration between the library and the ORHS Visual Arts Department. “My work is generally based on the mundane experiences of my life—the day-to-day tasks that we otherwise don’t think twice about—or the feelings I have felt,” Caisse explains. “The work I am creating at this moment in time reflects the age that I am, being a teenager and all.” Renee’s work will also be on display during the ORHS’s Evening with the Arts on Friday, May 3rd. Contact Stevens Memorial Library, 20 Memorial Drive in Ashburnham, for information on future Young Artist Spotlight exhibits at 978-827-4115.

Make Art at Main Street Studios

Fitchburg, MA

Do you get inspired by fellow artists? Would the company of other creatives motivate you to work on an idea or abandoned project?

Come to Main Street Studios on Tuesday evenings. We have plenty of work space for you to set up with your writing, painting, knitting, etc.

We will socialize for a half hour-ish and then have a quiet hour or two to do the work. If you are inclined to share at the end of the evening - or the end of the summer, you are welcome to do so. But that is not required.

Main Street Studios has coffee/tea/water and maybe a few snacks. There are also options for delivery if you want to order dinner.

The point of this evening is to have fun and employ a little gentle peer pressure to kick aside those creative blocks. If you have any questions, send us a message or leave a comment in the event. You can also email studios@fitchburgculturalalliance.org.
