Treasures on Tracks: A Journey Through History & Heritage will be held on April 14th from 3:30-7:30pm. Colin M. Caplan, local historian an author, will be presenting on how the trolley system helped create commercial enterprise and spurred the growth of cities and neighborhoods.

We are delighted to share the exciting news that the Shore Line Trolley Museum has been selected as one of the proud recipients of federal funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This grant, totaling $15,000, is a significant step towards supporting local nonprofits in their recovery from the challenging aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Shore Line Trolley Museum is deeply honored and immensely grateful to First Selectman James Cosgrove, the Town of Branford, and the Branford Community Foundation aiding our museum in these unprecedented times. Their visionary decision to allocate ARPA funding to local non-profits underscores the essential role that cultural and charitable organizations play in fostering community resilience and vibrancy.

Mardi Gras Craft Making & Trolley Rides: Let the good times roll with our Mardi Gras Craft Making event. Join us on February 10th between 11 & 2 to create vibrant crafts, ride our own New Orleans streetcar, watch a magician perform and experience the spirit of this iconic celebration.

Valentine's Day Trolley Weddings and Vow Renewals: Love is in the air on Valentine's Day! Say "I do" or renew your vows on a charming trolley – the perfect backdrop for a romantic celebration. Our officiants are standing by free of charge to commemorate your enduring love.

Pysanky Decorating Extravaganza: Dive into the rich tradition of Ukrainian egg decorating with our Pysanky Decorating event. Get creative and design your own intricate pysanky eggs on March 16th, 19th, and 21st. It's a unique cultural experience for all ages!

Visit with the Easter Bunny: Hop on over to the museum on March 23rd, 24th, 29th, and 30th for a delightful day with the Easter Bunny. Capture the magic with photos, enjoy scavenger hunts, and take a trolley ride with the whole family.

Bluegrass Jam Every Month: Feel the rhythm at our monthly Bluegrass Jam sessions. Join talented musicians as they bring the joy of bluegrass to the museum grounds. Check the calendar for upcoming jam dates.

Volunteer Trolley Operator Training Program: Ever dreamed of operating a trolley? Seize the opportunity with our Volunteer Trolley Operator Training Program. Learn the ropes, literally, and become part of our dedicated team. Program starts April 6!

Treasure on Tracks Museum Inaugural Fundraiser: Join us on April 14th for the Treasure on Tracks fundraiser, supporting the museum's ongoing mission. Enjoy an evening of entertainment, auctions, and special surprises.

New York Transportation Day: Celebrate the Big Apple's rich transportation history on May 4th. Explore New York-themed exhibits, enjoy special trolley rides, and immerse yourself in the city that never sleeps.

Mother's Day Weekend: Show your appreciation for Mom with special events on Mother's Day Weekend. On Saturday, make a special gift to give Mom. Moms ride free all weekend with the purchase of a regular admission.

Members Day: Get ready for a day of nostalgia, connection, and pure railway enthusiasm at our annual Members Only event on May 18th.

2024 BERA Board Calendar

The Branford Electric Railway Association Board of Trustees has established its 2024 calendar. Board meetings are normally held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, at 9:30am via Zoom. All members are welcomed to attend.
