Casino Bill Officially Pulled from 2024 Legislative Session 

Senate Bill 675, which would have paved the way for a future casino in Fairfax County, has been officially pulled from consideration during the 2024 legislative session. The Virginia Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee voted 13-2 on Tuesday to continue the bill to next year, following a recommendation made Feb. 1 by a subcommittee. During the hearing, state Sen. Jennifer Boysko (D-33) presented an alternative motion to “pass by indefinitely” and kill the bill, reiterating that she had heard from “hundreds and hundreds” of concerned residents in her district. However, that vote failed in the Finance and Appropriations Committee.
