Campus-wide Drill Set for Wednesday, March 1
Do you know what to do in the event of a tornado?  Severe weather season is approaching, and we're having a campus-wide shelter-in-place drill at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, to help you know correct procedures.

To get ready for the drill, be sure to download the Alert Samford app and review the shelter-in-place instructions. Then, when the drill begins, go to the designated refuge area in the building you are in. If you are outdoors when the drill begins, know what to do and follow the check-in instructions you receive through RAVE.
Diversity Development Grant

Don't forget to apply on behalf of your student organization to receive a Diversity Development Grant in the amount of $200!

Visit our website to download the grant application and make a difference in your Samford community! Application deadline: February 28, 2017

Next week, the Birmingham Committee on Foreign Relations is hosting what should be a great event on North Korea. Given recent events in North Korea, we believe this is will be an exceptional learning opportunity for all members of our community.

Three prominent North Korea experts will be featured. One is a prison camp escapee now based in Seoul, South Korea, who uses drones to get outside information into North Korea, one is a Tufts University professor who is the go-to on all things related to the country's nuclear ambitions and sanctions regime, and the third speaker is a prominent human rights activist working with refugees once they get to the US. He helps facilitate Congressional and United Nations testimonies related to North Korea.

BCFR is offering reduced tickets at $25 for faculty and $10 for students.

SGA President's Corner
Fellow students,

This week we hosted the annual SGA prayer breakfast to provide a time of prayer and fellowship among organization chaplains and different leaders across campus.

I encourage all of you to consider running for a Student Government office. Spring elections are right around the corner and applications open February 27th on OrgSync.

We will be hosting a candidate interest meeting on February 28th at 3pm in the Howard Room. Please join us, as we will be explaining all available positions and answering questions.
