The NC Triangle Chapter is accepting award nominations for outstanding people, employers and projects in the transportation community for the annual chapter recognition program.


Winners will be selected by the Chapter’s Executive Board and announced at the WTS NC Triangle Chapter’s 2024 Go Gala in the spring. Chapter award recipients will also be forwarded to WTS International for national award consideration. All awards, criteria and nomination forms are here. Nominations are due by March 15.

Mobi Award Nominations

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking nominations for the 2024 Mobi Awards Program.


The WTS NC Triangle chapter, along with NC Go! and ITRE, is a partner with NCDOT in the Mobi Award program, which recognizes projects that showcase investments in aviation, bicycle/pedestrian, ferry, rail and public transportation across the state. Winners will be announced at a luncheon on May 22. Nominations are due March 1.

Women in Engineering Conference

Registration is open for the North Carolina Women in Engineering Conference, to be held March 8 in Greensboro. The conference is presented by the Professional Engineers of North Carolina (PENC), Society of Women Engineers - Charlotte-Metrolina (SWE-CM), the NC Triangle and Charlotte Metro chapters of WTS, and Women in Nuclear. The mission of the conference is to unite female engineers and their peers, giving them opportunities for professional advancement, networking, and individual enrichment. The 2024 conference will spotlight two distinct tracks, one for Professional Development (offering PDH/CEU credits) and the other for Personal Development. 

WTS Celebrates Black History Month

WTS International is celebrating Black History Month this year with a theme of African Americans and the Arts. The organization will feature the rich history and lives of Black American art and artists. Black artists have had an undeniable impact on transportation, from pioneering architecture and technological advances to driving culture and development in communities across the country.
