The IDDSI Funnels are here!
It took our extraordinary IDDSI Global village to help develop and test the IDDSI funnel and we are very pleased to announce that the IDDSI funnel is now available for ordering.
The IDDSI Funnel is the only widely available funnel that was designed with the IDDSI Flow Test in mind. The IDDSI Funnel is designed to be easy to use with IDDSI levels already marked on the funnel itself, and it is re-usable and recyclable. The funnel store (including ordering and fulfillment) will be managed by our licensed manufacturer, Sparrow Solutions Ltd., and will be an official channel to order your IDDSI Funnels
Some important information:
- IDDSI Funnels are sold in packages (100 funnels per package) or cartons (1000 funnels per carton)
- Once you enter your shipping information, shipping quotes/options will be provided during the checkout process. Please note the shipping cost does not include any duties or taxes that may be charged on the shipment.
- If you have Business or Tax IDs (or other special instructions), please add them into the Cart
To go with the new IDDSI Funnel, we have created the following new resources, which can be found collected here. (These four resources will also be found in their respective locations, such as under Testing Cards, the IDDSI Flow Test, or our YouTube channel.)
Supporting the IDDSI mission: Every funnel sold goes to support the availability of funnels in regions around the world with less developed health care systems and access to financial resources.
Thank you to our global community for your patience and support while the funnel went through the important process of development, testing and distribution. A very big thank you to all those who participated in the pilot testing of the funnel, development of instructions for use and the ordering and distribution process.

China: The IDDSI China IRG have been very busy setting up meetings for discussion for the implementation of IDDSI in Mainland China. They are scheduling to complete full implementation of IDDSI guidelines at the Second Xiangya Hospital and have plans to start implementation in 20-30 hospitals nationwide!
They are also preparing for educational programs to implement IDDSI at different healthcare settings in China, with 100 hospitals and rehabilitation facilities being involved. Very exciting!

Israel: IDDSI transcending differences bring people together! In February 2023, Samson Assuta Ashdod University Hospital hosted a team of speech language pathologists, an occupational therapist, nurse assistants and the kitchen staff from a school for children with special needs in East Jerusalem. These children with special needs have to receive food and liquids of modified textures for their safety.
During the visit, the dietitians and speech language pathologists from Assuta taught the school staff the IDDSI terminology of food and liquids. They learned all about IDDSI, took a tour of the kitchen, practiced testing different foods and most of all a bridge of cooperation was created.
