Jerry Christopherson,
Founder / President
True Patriots Care.
Jerry Christopherson, who served in the U.S. Army from 1966-68, is the founder and President of True Patriots Care (www.truepatriotscare.com). Christopherson founded True Patriots Care, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, in 2009 to honor our nation’s heroes by paying respect to the lives lost and offering support to their families. Known for assembling powerful displays of American flags to honor our first responders, active-duty military, and veterans at locations across Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana, True Patriots Care is dedicated to healing hearts, bringing communities together, generating awareness and raising funds in support of worthy causes.
The organization relies on volunteers to install flag displays outside Chicago-area funeral homes, churches, and civic centers so the entire community knows when a hero is being laid to rest. In addition, True Patriots Care has hosted other community events such as motorcycle runs, Purple Heart recognition lunches, the 9/11 Memorial Healing Field® and Field of Honor®, Officer Down Tribute, and The Wall That Heals, a touring replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
In light of the COVID pandemic, non-profit organizations had limited fundraising opportunities over the last couple years. With the assistance of corporate sponsors sought out chiefly by Christopherson himself, True Patriots Care raised over $50,000 in the past 2 years that was donated to other veteran, first responder and youth non-profits.
Jerry Christopherson is the true definition of a selfless individual. He passionately gives his time and resources to honor the heroes we have lost ensuring they will not be forgotten.
Jerry wouldn't be able to give so much without the support of his wife, Linda, his 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
