Clackamas Federal Credit Union
It wouldn’t be a complete Polar Plunge without the Clackamas Federal Credit Union “CU in the Water” Plungers.

Clackamas Federal is a true partner with Special Olympics Oregon across so many areas of our work, and a champion of our athletes, both on and off the field. President, Aaron Goff, and his employee team sit in various volunteer roles across our organization.

From coaching basketball as part of Winter Virtual Games to serving on the Young Professionals Council, the team at Clackamas Federal Plunges into everything they do with true passion.

We are so grateful to have Clackamas Federal Credit Union returning as a statewide sponsor for this year’s Virtual Polar Plunge Oregon!

Big 5 + Unified Plunge
Unified, even miles apart
SOOR athletes Chris Dyer, Dom Adams, Dony Knight, Jack Kain and Rachel Parsons, also known as "The Big 5," are taking on the Virtual Super Plunge this February with the support of SOOR's Young Professionals Council. While activities may be virtual this year, that hasn't slowed down the fundraising efforts of these five Super Plunge athletes. In a unified approach, members of the YPC have partnered up with The Big 5 to raise awareness of their campaign pages and increase donor potential. Together, these Super Plunge athletes and the YPC make a great team, as they are already 65% of the way towards their goal! The Big 5 have almost reached their goal of $15,000!
Chair Yoga with Debbie!
Volunteer chair yoga instructor, Debbie Pedersen has been an incredible leader within SOOR Active. She lives in Arizona but facilitates a weekly Chair Yoga class that is hands down one of our athletes' favorite to attend.

Debbie has been supporting SOOR for 25 years. Even after her move out of state, she would still come back to Oregon for events and to see all of the athletes.

As a certified Chair Yoga instructor, Zoom has given Debbie a chance to see her athletes once more! Every Thursday at 9 AM, Debbie and athletes get to catch up with each other and move their bodies through yoga and dance!

"I look forward to teaching class with the athletes every single week. Seeing their smiles when we are exercising together brings me so much joy! Even though I haven’t met them in person, I feel like we have all been friends forever."

"It’s much more than just doing yoga; we have fun chatting and doing yoga dance routines with music. It sets us up for a great day!'
