Southern Industrial Contractors (SIC) started this 500,000 ton per year pellet mill in 2014. SIC's scope of work included demolition of the existing Louisiana Pacific OSB plant and all subsequent mass grading for this new $300 million pellet production facility. Part of SIC's scope of work was to construct the concrete foundations for the LOG PRO radial crane and debarking line/chipper, Bark Shed, FMW stacker reclaimer, TSI drum dryers, KICE wet mill and dry hammer mills, PHELPS truck dump, saw dust silos, and CHIEF pellet storage silos.

Drax Biomass purchased this facility in 2017, and hired SIC to perform numerous upgrades including installation of 18,000 cubic yards of new concrete paving around the facility and the log yard.
In 2018, Drax added a rail spur to this facility, and SIC installed the new
rail loadout foundations for pellet shipments by rail.

The design and engineering team for this project included Professional Engineering Associates, Mid-South Engineering, Meyer Meyer Lecroix & Hixson, and Johnson & Pace Engineers.

SIC PORTABLE CONCRETE PLANTS
Southern Industrial Contractors owns four portable concrete plants that can be set up at your project site. The photo below is SIC's Johnson Ross Ranger 750 twin drum central mix concrete plant currently working at Drax Lasalle BioEnergy. This concrete plant has recently produced over 60,000 cubic yards of concrete at this location.
