Hi everyone

I am thinking now about courses that are coming up soon and which I would love you to book on. Firstly, two courses both of which will be delivered by me and then a reminder of the course which Alex Mcintyre will be teaching at Moor Hall. All of these courses have a link with 'drawing'.

INSPIRED BY MARY FEDDEN with Bobby Britnell £150

This first course is an ON-LINE COURSE over 5 sessions on a Thursday afternoon from 2.30 to approximatley 4.30.

Mary Fedden was a prolific painter and we will be examining her iconic works which made her popular as a British artist. I cannot share any of her images in this newsletter because of copyright issues, although will be able to when teaching. You can source paintings yourself on the internet. These images below are students work from the previous course that I did on-line.

PLEASE JOIN ME AND LEARN ABOUT FEDDEN, HOW SHE WORKED, AND THE IMAGERY, MEDIA AND TECHNIQUES THAT SHE USED IN HER PAINTINGS.

2.BEGINNERS DRAWING with Bobby Britnell 2 days £150

This course is designed to encourage those of you who feel you cannot draw, that in fact you can. We will be looking at a variety of different drawing techniques and ways of building up designs and compostions using a range of drawing media. My mantra is 'Everyone can draw'. If you can make marks by writing your name then you can draw.

PLEASE JOIN ME FOR A WEEKEND OF FUN ACTIVITIES

THESE ARE SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES THAT WE WILL BE EXPLORING PLUS SOME MORE.

3.FINDING POSSIBILITIES with Alex McIntyre 3 days £240

I took part in Alex's course last year and was so impressed in her teaching philopsopy and how she encouraged students to 'find possibilities' in all that they were doing. It was a brilliant course and anyone who wishes to be stretched that little bit further, I would thoroughly recommend this course. These were some of my works from that course.

She works with layers of different media creating wonderful marks and textures on the paper surface. She will be getting you to work both outside and inside, creating fast, intuitive , expressive drawings and paintings all inspired by the beautiful Shropshire landscape, in which I live.

My dear friends Laura and Linda Kemshall run very exciting courses of all descriptions and can be found by clicking on this link below.

I have signed up to their newsletters and have bought several of their workshops, which I can dip into whenever I fancy. They cover all kinds of topics from printing, dyeing, drawing, painting, sketchbook work, quilting ideas and much much more.

THEY ARE WELL WORTH LOOKING AT.

He has gained recognition for his authentic interpretations of traditional English folk songs, as well as his own original compositions. Roots magazine has described him as "one of the best of the New Wave of Folk Blokes". Explaining his love for traditional music, Wilks told The Guardian, "Most people have an affair or buy a sports car for their midlife crisis. I fell for traditional music, then fell down the rabbit hole."

He is a devotee of the legendary Martin Carthy's work and to this end is currently performing with him on tour, not for this event, but maybe another time. Jon will provide for us an entertaining evening full of songs and tunes, peppered in between with delightful stories.
