Feather Duster Flash Sale
Dear FlyLady,
I've been following you off and on for many years. I think I found you in 2007. I get busy season where I get off track, but I also often find, that when I get back onto the zones and missions, that I actually am habitually about a week ahead of you for each zone.
I guess it's a part of me now.I'm often saying. "I just did that" and I move on to the details. I don't have to think deeply about it. When I feel like i have clutter of am "behind" (mostly because I get busy in the flower shop, or with the Symhpony Chorus.) I log in and find you.
Also, I find that your letters just dissappear from my feed, and I have to get in and subscribe to them again.
I'm writing about the feather dusters. I give the house a once-over-lightly with the feather duster before I sweep on "House Blessing" day. I was taught as a girl, that feather dusters just "spread the dirt around". Being a nurse I'm all about the damp dusting (with disinfactant) where I can.
Anyway. I was convinced by one of your videos to give feather dusters another try. I do use the feather duster pretty regularly, because it's so fast, and it work for lampshades and books, around houseplants, framed pictures, TV screens, the tops of things, under and behind things, piano keys, and overhead light fixtures and ceiling fans and chair legs and all the things like that. I just go around each room clockwise and dust every surface I can reach, top to bottom, and then I vacuum. It is fast and easy and fun. I can often get my grand daughter to join in. I have 2 of them for just such an occasion.
It came in really handy when I broke my shoulder recently. I had to make do with just my left hand, and at first I had too much pain to bend over forward. and I it for all kinds of things, including getting things into a dust pan. Maddening to try to do with one hand!
The other week, your mission was to polish the dining room furniture. While I had it out, I polished all of the furniture on the main level of the house, and I am pleased to tell you that I didn't find much if ANY dust on ANYTHING.
I was amazed. I give credit to the wonderful feather dusters! And I've had them for years. They do last!
If someone was thinking of giving them a try, I say go for it!
Andrea
Dear FlyLady,
Just wanted to share with you that I love my feather duster. I never seem to have time to keep my dashboard clean (perfectionism). Where does all the dust come from anyway?
So, I got to thinking that I could try my feather duster on it. It's long enough to reach everything. I decided to try it. Well, in a couple of minutes, my entire dashboard area was beautifully dust-free, radio and camera system, door compartments and all.
I have tried to dust it before with my Swiffer duster, but the feather duster worked better and faster! Then I blessed the world and went inside and kept on happily dusting! Love.

Dear FlyLady,
Let me start by saying, I HATE TO DUST! Don't we all? So when I started with FlyLady and saw DUSTING was on the Home Blessing List, my Inner Princess "Belle" whined: "But I don't wannnnnnnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaa."
It meant a can of furniture spray and a cloth and a couple of hours wiping down every surface in the house. UGGGGGGGGHHHHH! And the spray made me sneeze more than the dust.Sooooooooooooooo after awhile I didn't do it all. Until I joined FlyLady and bought my feather dusters. I read many testimonials from different people using the dusters and they made dusting sound fun. I also loved the idea of "blessing the world."
When the box arrived, I really couldn't wait to open it. I tried the FlyLady Feather Duster and got LAYERS of dust off furniture. I was finally able clean my ceiling fans and grab the cobwebs off the ceilings. It never happened with a cloth and those disposable dusters drove me crazy having to change the pads and all. But now I dust every week. It takes minutes instead of hours and it may not be perfect, but it's getting done. Yes, it may be old fashioned but it gets the job done and, contrary to the clever advertising, my FlyLady feather duster traps the dust in the feathers; it does not just push it around.
One day, perhaps, others will realize what I already know: Disposable cloths and dusters can't beat my FlyLady Feather Duster for getting the job done. The dusters make the dust, and me, FLY.
