Good Things Happening!

Last Sunday we had a potluck supper for everyone with young children or grandchildren, as well as for those who teach young children. It was organized by several mothers of young children, and we had at least eight different families in attendance. Tim Coleman smoked a pork butt, and everyone else brought a side dish to share. We ate in the boardroom, and the parish hall was still cleared out from the antique show, so the kids had a nice, wide space in which to play. It was a wonderful evening of delicious food, commiseration, and joy.

On Wednesday, AMen's Corner reconvened at the Corner Bakery on Pacific Coast Highway. The format was simple: everyone shared how things were going in their life since the last meeting, and how church was going or what church meant for them at that particular time. The format was simple, but the impact was deep; it felt great to be able to check in with my peers--my brothers in Christ, and there were several conversations that spun off from the check-ins. It wasn't just a social event, and it wasn't some heady theological discussion; it was a group of men talking about life and faith.

There are a lot of good things happening at St. Francis, and much of it is being led by the laity. I love being able to participate, rather than lead, and I love seeing the Spirit at work among our people.

Then consider coming along to meet your neighbours and share your good news!
These treasured buildings are only here because of your faith and love.
Nursery & Sunday School families!
Summer Sunday School Starts this Week.

While parents and guardians worship, our kids will be thriving, with supervised fun in the fantastic Town and Country playground this summer. Come straight down to the playground at the bottom of the steps. Or ask an Usher to direct you.

The nursery is still available for our tiniest church members. Up to you to decide where your little one(s) would be happiest.

And as ever we always welcome kids in church. No one will shush you. We love to see families and children in our pews!
