Climate Farmers Stories

@JAM

A multimedia exhibit featuring 13 Upper Valley farmers using sustainable agricultural methods to combat climate change and create a resilient food supply, this exhibit is part of the Vital Communities' Climate Farmer Stories project, funded by the US Department of Agriculture. It aims to boost farmer income, reshape perceptions of farming and climate change, and enhance marketing skills for participating farmers. By supporting these climate-conscious farmers, we can invest in community resilience and climate action.

Why we cross-country ski

'Tis the season (almost) to hit the trails. Competitive skier Art Copoulus created this film celebrating his winter passion in a JAM Documentary Filmmaking workshop through Osher this year. Check out his interviews with folks at an Anchorage, Alaska, race, and settle into the gorgeous views he captured. Why ski cross-country? "To experience happiness and joy," says Copoulus.

Moving past trauma

"There's some kind of damage a man can't walk away from," sang Thetford native Nick Charyk. He and other local musicians appeared at JAM last month at Reclaim Tomorrow. Sponsored by the VT Peace/Antiwar Coalition and Upper Valley Democratic Socialists of America, the event "challenged a culture of endless war."

Horrific Events in Middle East Discussion

Two discussions on the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas were organized by The Jewish Studies and Middle Eastern Studies programs at Dartmouth College. This second discussion took place Oct. 12, 2023 in Filene Auditorium and was moderated by Senior Lecturer Ezzedine Fishere, Egyptian author and academic, with faculty Susannah Heschel, Chair of Jewish Studies; Jonathan Smolin, Middle Eastern Studies professor; and Visiting Professor Bernard Avishai.
