Dear STAR Friends and Families,
As you may have heard, last spring Katie Banzhaf announced her intention to retire after over forty years of dedicated and visionary service to STAR. Fortunately, in Katie’s signature style that always put STAR clients and families first, she gave us ample notice to conduct a nationwide search for her replacement that has spanned almost eight months.
On behalf of the STAR Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to announce that MaryGrace Giuliano has accepted the position as STAR’s new Executive Director. MaryGrace has over 30 years’ experience serving children, families, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Institutes for Applied Dynamics in Tarrytown, NY and resides in Connecticut.
MaryGrace will be welcomed on her first day at STAR on January 8, 2024, which will allow a period of overlap with Katie to ensure a smooth passing of the torch to carry STAR’s light into the future.
