Dear Artisans,

We're pleased to offer you the definition of an American classic today.

(Two of them, to be precise!)

2017 was the first vintage where the winery made the decision to craft two Cabs under the Far Niente label:

The Napa wasn't submitted for any ratings, so the Oakville received all the limelight and 94-point scores.

But a quick look at what 'the people' think of the Napa sums it up:
At 5 years of bottle age, this solid icon is a versatile 'goldilocks' to bolster your cellar, or a friend's, for 15 more years of drinking pleasure.

Should you need to 'step it up' we also have a few cases left of the Oakville Estate Bottled at the lowest price in the USA. It's a real titan with 25 more years of mileage left!

Cheers,
—James Tran

2017 Far Niente Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

From the Winery:
Napa Valley Cabernet is our heritage wine and speaks to our 40-year legacy as growers and producers of unparalleled Cabernet. The wine combines select vineyards in Calistoga, Oak Knoll, St. Helena, Stags Leap, Diamond Mountain, and Yountville that complement our estate vineyards in Oakville. These wines are the very embodiment of our long-established house style and are representative of all that is right with Napa Valley Cabernets. Indeed, the marriage of these diverse vineyards has enabled us to craft Napa Valley Cabernet at a nearly inconceivable level.

2017 Far Niente Oakville Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"The heart of this wine comes from the Martin Stelling Vineyard around the producer's property in Oakville and it contains small amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec. Smooth edges of tannin and oak melt away on the succulent palate, allowing layers of plum, berry and dark chocolate to impress." (VB 3/2020)

93+ Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Bottled checks in as a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, and the balance Malbec. Sporting a deep purple hue as well as classy notes of black plums, blackcurrants, graphite, damp earth, and roasted herbs, it's rich, medium to full-bodied, has good acidity, building tannins, and a chalky minerality on the finish. Give it 3-4 years of bottle age and it will keep for 20 years or more. (1/2020)
