If we don't teach our children to follow Christ, the world will teach them not to.
GOD IS FAITHFUL (Day 47)

Because GOD IS FAITHFUL, if I read something in His Word, He will do it

Preparation: God has provided thousands of promises for us in His Word. For example, God promises to forgive us and cleanse us. How many of God's promises can you name in 30 seconds.

Read the Bible Memory Verse below.

BIBLE MEMORY VERSE
"But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil."
(2 Thessalonians 3:3)
What promises of God are contained in the Bible Memory verse?
  • He will always be faithful toward us
  • He is the One who establishes us (strengthens and secures us)
  • He keeps us from evil

Read the following verses and note the promises that God provides us:
  • Hebrews 13:5
  • Romans 8:28
  • John 3:16
  • 1 John 1:9
  • 2 Corinthians 5:17
  • John 6:37
  • John 10:10

What promise are you particularly thankful for? Why?

God's faithfulness can be seen through the promises He makes. Because God never breaks His promises, you can be absolutely 100% sure that He is always faithful! In other words, you can have faith that God will be faithful to you.

Do you trust God to keep His promises?

Can you name some promises that God made and kept?

Have you ever made any promises to God? How are you doing at keeping them?

WHY DOES THIS MATTER:
Because God is faithful, I know that if I read a promise in the Bible, He will keep it.

TAKING ACTION:
Thank God for a promise He has kept with you. Ask Him to help you trust Him to keep ALL His promises. (Help children think of promises by giving one yourself that they can understand.)

Of all the promises that were referenced today, write one down and post it somewhere to see it as a reminder every day (for example, on a mirror).

A Sample Prayer to Conclude Your Time
Use this great hymn of the Faith for your prayer time.

Dear God,
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Thank you for your faithfulness to me. In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen.
