Art with a Heart in Healthcare (AWAHIH) continues to host art shows in the Wolfson Children's Hospital (WCH) media center. Pictured above is Artist-in-Residence, Dylan, demonstrating a painting inspired by Salvador Dali and a few patients' creative interpretations of the piece.
AWAHIH will continue our virtual arts program in which patients create art on our iPads using Procreate, a digital painting platform. Pictured here is a WCH patient, Skylar, creating digital art in the WCH playroom. Our Artists-in-Residence even printed out his artwork, so that he could bring it home!
Fundraisers and Donations
Thank you to AWAHIH Board of Directors member, Keri Carter, for hosting a fundraising event in which she collected art supplies to fill Catie Cares Art-To-Go bags for AWAHIH in honor of her daughter, Catie, whose wish was for every child in the hospital to have art supplies.
Congratulations to Board of Directors Chair, Hillary Whitaker, on curating another outstanding exhibit at Hillary Whitaker Gallery. Thank you, Hillary, for holding a raffle drawing at the show opening and donating all raffle ticket proceeds to AWAHIH.
AWAHIH has distributed over 4,550 Catie Cares Art-To-Go bags to pediatric patients since 2012. We are so grateful for all of the generous people who have helped us to give the gift of art to hospitalized patients.
