The 6 Week Early Fall Session Starts September 16th 2024

Dear current and prospective clients,

Can you believe it's already time to start thinking about fall lessons?! This weekend's sudden dip in temperature not withstanding, it really feels like summer has only just begun!

As usual, this fall we will be prioritizing lessons for our existing boarders, part boarders and lesson clients and then filling in with new clients depending on space, matching availability for arena time, instructors and horses.

It is our plan to create the fall schedule over the week of August 26th, so we ask that you have your registrations in to us by the 23rd of August at the latest. We ask that you be as flexible as possible as we do our best to draft a schedule that will accommodate as many riders as possible while giving boarders space to ride and allowing us to maintain a personal connection with each of our students. Evenings and weekends fill up fast, so weekday/daytime availability is appreciated and will increase your chances of getting a spot.

Due to our high volume of riders PRIVATE and SEMI-PRIVATE lessons will ONLY be available on weekdays between 8AM and 2:00PM (no evenings or weekends). If you sign up for private or semi-private lessons this fall you will mostly likely be placed in a group lesson. The good news is, group lessons are more fun and riders have the important added benefit of watching and learning from others in the lesson!

Please note that it is no easy feat to build a schedule that works for up 200+ riders, so please be sure that you are truly able to commit to the times that you indicate on your registration form. Last minute adjustments are always difficult and often impossible, no matter how much we want to help you out!

Fall Lesson Cancellation Policy

  • Please let us know as far ahead of time as possible if you will be missing a lesson as this may change the way schedule the horses for lessons that day.

  • Group lesson packages are sold at a discount and are non refundable.

  • If a lesson is cancelled by the instructor a make up class will be arranged.

  • There is a ONE (1) make-up lesson cap, no more, for lessons that you have missed (i.e. missed due to personal reasons and not cancelled or rescheduled by your instructor).

  • If you miss a lesson, you may only make it up by joining another regularly scheduled lesson within the package period. It is your responsibility to schedule this with your instructor, do not leave it until the last week of the session.

  • Make up lessons are NOT guaranteed and are offered as a courtesy only.

  • We will not provide a separate or private lesson to make up for a lesson that you have missed. Please do your best to show up for your scheduled times.

  • There are no refunds for lessons that you have missed and cannot make up within the session as stated above.

Please note that some lessons, like the summer pop ups (or any pay as you go option) and the shorter 5 week Late Fall Session, do not allow for make up lessons, unless a class is cancelled by OOF or your instructor.

Yearly Training Plan (YTP) Meetings

This fall we will begin scheduling meetings with interested riders and parents, outside of lesson time, to discuss long and short term rider goals, levels of commitment, and next steps towards developing a yearly training plan for each of those riders.

These sessions will be largely rider/parent led and we will be sending out questionnaires for riders and parents to bring to the sessions. More information on this to come in a later email. If you are interested in setting up a meeting please sign up at the link below. These sessions are optional, but recommended for students with competition goals.

15km/hr Speed Limit

Our driveway is a busy throughway to many of our paddocks, as such, there are often staff members, horses, dogs and kids on the driveway, not to mention quite a lot of wild life from frogs, snakes and turtles to chipmunks, squirrels and rabbits. There are also a few blind spots where drivers may not see other users enter the lane and vice versa.

Please respect the 15km/hr speed limit. Our pets, horses, staff and riders (your kids included) thank you for your cooperation and patience!
