Fall 24 Catalog PDF Available Online

Preview the upcoming Fall 24 term by using the online PDF version of the print catalog! Anyone included on our mailing list should receive their catalogs this week.

Start looking over the exciting classes that will be offered at OLLI at SOU in the fall and get ready for Priority Registration on Monday, August 12.

Important Registration Dates:

• Monday, August 12: Online course catalog live
• Monday, August 12–23: Priority Registration period
• Tuesday, September 3: Open Registration begins
• September 16–November 22: Fall 2024 Term

Priority Registration Announcement

Priority Registration is a two-week period five weeks before the start of the term. During this period you may request up to three courses of your choosing. Priority Registration increases your changes of getting the course(s) you want.

NEW! It is now best to submit your priority registration requests early in the Priority Registration period, as the waitlist is ordered by the earliest date/time the request was submitted.

Please read the Priority Registration Guidelines for more information on how the waitlist is created. Keep an eye on your inbox for an email with a more detailed explanation of the two registration periods.

Winter Course Proposal Period Opens This Week!

The 2025 Winter Course Proposal form goes live Thursday, August 1! The OLLI at SOU catalog has hosted more than 100 courses the last several terms. We offer courses ranging from the arts to the sciences--and nearly everything in between. For two to ten sessions during the winter term, there’s an OLLI audience waiting to take part in your knowledge, skills, and passions. Winter term runs Monday, January 6–Friday, March 14.

Exhibits, Refreshments, Prize Drawings!

Don't miss the OLLI at SOU Open House! Join us for what has become a popular annual tradition, now in its ninth year. This free, public event is happening Tuesday, August 6, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. in the SOU Stevenson Union. You can preview OLLI's upcoming term and academic year as well as connect with other Rogue Valley nonprofits who share OLLI's mission of lifelong learning and social connections. It's a great way to introduce friends to the many benefits of OLLI membership.

Be sure to register in advance to become eligible for the First Choice Door Prize Drawing. Pre-registered attendees will receive an extra ticket for a drawing that lets the winner select their favorite prize package before the other drawings occur.

OLLI at SOU Staffing Announcement from Administrative Director Heather Inghram!

We are happy to announce that the newest member of the OLLI at SOU team, Megan Rutherford, is now in a full-time position. Megan started last fall as an Office Service Specialist, and in June took on the full-time role of our new OLLI Program Specialist position.

This new Program Specialist position combines the duties of the part-time Office Service Specialist and part-time Volunteer Coordinator. In addition to doing an exemplary job of working with our instructors and volunteers, Megan has showcased her skills with our course catalog database. Megan is following up with members who expressed interest in volunteering. Please be sure to welcome her if you have not yet met her!

I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of OLLI at SOU. As an OLLI Program Specialist, my duties encompass scheduling courses, working in our database, providing tech support, and the new task of coordinating volunteers. I’m excited to dive into this exciting process of volunteer coordinating and connect with more OLLI members. 

Thank you to everyone in OLLI for being so welcoming and helpful as I learn the ropes. I look forward to continued growth together and will strive to do what I can to support our OLLI’s continued success.

A small batch of our Fall 24 catalogs have a printing error resulting in missing pages. If you happen to receive an incomplete copy, please email the OLLI office at olli@sou.edu or call 541-552-6048 to request a new copy to be mailed to your house.
