Baby Ah’nyla

An Emotional Surprise

Ashley Troutman was well past the stage of diapers and baby feedings. She had a busy life working and caring for her three sons ages 16, 15 and 13. Then, she learned that she and her husband, Ahmad, were expecting a baby girl. Ashley’s sudden surprise turned into an overwhelming amount of joy and excitement, as she shared the news with her family. When Ashley was 24 weeks pregnant, she and Ahmad received another surprise, but this time it filled them with fear and worry. Her baby Ah’nyla was delivered, 16 weeks early.

Walking With You at Our Hope Parade

On November 6th, Zoo Miami will be the stage for our 2022 ICU baby Hope Parade to kick off World Prematurity Month! Walk registration includes a t-shirt, breakfast snacks, a finishers medal for children, a family gift bag, and admission to Zoo Miami for the entire day after the walk! Join us to walk in honor of the babies who passed away in the NICU and to celebrate our community’s NICU babies, families, and healthcare teams! Nods to commemorate our NICU experiences include a Hallway of Hope and a Bereavement Butterfly Release. All proceeds from the event will support ICU baby’s programs in the NICU’s of Baptist Health's South Miami Hospital and UM/Jackson Memorial’s Holtz Children’s Hospital.
