A Message From Our Superintendent
Dear FH Schools Families,
I hope the start of the new school year has been smooth and exciting for your family. We are working hard each day to be the best school district in the state. Here are some updates on our district...
McDowell Mountain Elementary School Back-to-School Night
We had a fantastic evening at McDowell Mountain Elementary’s Back-to-School Night! It was wonderful to see our parents and guardians on campus. Our teachers presented valuable information about their classrooms, curriculum, and key upcoming projects. Principal Reichler shared her vision for the school year and introduced some exciting parent engagement activities that will be launching soon. We appreciate everyone who attended and look forward to a great year ahead!
Upcoming Back-to-School Nights
Mark your calendars for September 9, 2024! Both Fountain Hills Middle School and Fountain Hills High School will be hosting their Back-to-School Nights on this date, starting at 5:30 pm.
-
Fountain Hills Middle School: Dr. Weeldreyer will begin the evening with a meeting in the cafeteria. Parents will then follow their child's schedule to meet teachers and learn about their courses.
-
Fountain Hills High School: Principal Pinto will welcome parents in the Lecture Hall. Following this, parents will walk their child's schedule to meet teachers and gain insights into each class, including important projects and assessments.
Website Transition
Exciting changes are underway as we transition to new websites for each of our schools. This update will help save the District money and give us greater control over our site content. Currently, the new platforms are live for the District, Fountain Hills Middle School, and Fountain Hills High School. We are working on updating McDowell Mountain Elementary and Little Falcons Preschool next. In the meantime, you can access all school websites via our main web address: www.fhschools.org.
New Videos Coming Soon
We are thrilled to announce that we will soon have seven new videos about our District and schools. Several are already featured on our new website. We encourage you to watch them and share them on social media with friends and family.
ASVAB Test Results
Our high school students recently completed the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test, a standardized assessment that helps identify potential career paths based on science, math, and language skills. We are pleased to report that our students performed exceptionally well. They will soon be able to review their results, which will aid them in exploring college and career options.
New Tutoring Partnership
We are excited to introduce a new tutoring option through our partnership with Varsity Tutors. This year, all students have access to:
- Homework help via chat with a certified teacher
- Essay feedback before submission
- Tutoring courses in various subjects
For more information, visit fhschools.org and scroll to the Varsity Tutors section, click the "learn more" button, or contact your school's principal.
Labor Day
There is no school on Monday, September 2nd in recognition of the Labor Day holiday. Enjoy your long weekend!
Coffee With Cain
Our first Coffee with Cain will be held Tuesday, September 3rd in the District Office Learning Center. We look forward to sharing feedback, ideas and making new friends.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our schools. Here’s to a successful and enriching school year!
