May 19, 2016 - Today, the Flynn Campaign continued its vitriol and baseless attacks against other candidates running for California's 31st Congressional District. His use of negative campaign tactics - a favorite of career politicians like Pete Aguilar - prove his claims to be disingenuous and nothing more than name-calling.
Paul Chabot stated, "I'm not sure what is more disappointing - the fact that Sean is trying to purchase this election with Liberal money, or the fact he hasn't voted in 17 out of the last 20 elections."
"The people of the 31st District deserve a representative who will focus on their needs, not on winning elections at all costs. Instead of bringing these accusations up during candidate forums or speeches across the district, Sean has put them in TV ads and direct mail like a coward. As a combat veteran who put my Nation first and a Reserve Deputy Sheriff who patrolled some of our County's most violent areas, there is little that is more annoying than a coward. We deserve leaders who have the moral fortitude to stand up for their convictions publicly. As your Congressman while we may not agree, you'll always know where I stand and it won't be behind a screen, a mailer, or a staff member."
John Thomas, Chabot's Chief Strategist claimed, "This is nothing more than a campaign that knows it is losing and a candidate who has absolutely no credentials to run for office, or name ID and who is trying to gain traction."
"Paul has served not only his nation, but our communities bravely as an Iraq War Veteran and Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He has also worked in the district to create real jobs as a small businessman. The whole time Sean has participated in the same higher education system he decries as suffocating our nation's youth with debt. That is why Paul continues to gain support at all levels across the nation, state and region from law enforcement leaders, educators, and public servants," said Thomas.
