Commemorating Juneteenth

June 20, 2024, 2:30 PM CST

Racial Justice Ministries and Join the Movement toward Racial Justice invite you to honor and celebrate Juneteenth this year by remembering and discovering the healing practices that sustained freedom in the bones of our ancestors, before and after emancipation. Through music and prayer, poetry and art, reflection, and ritual, may we find a medicine bundle, a libation, a Brush Harbor and a clearing, a poultice that teaches us the sound of freedom, echoing from legacies of healing and singing futures of wholeness. Explore the rich historical legacy of Juneteenth. Deepen practices of restorative healing. Listen and learn from educators, organizers, activists, and next generation leaders. Remember, God is still Speaking! Register online here.

Climate Hope Kickoff

June 18, 2024, 2:00 PM CST

On June 18th, the UCC will launch its second Climate Hope card collection campaign that will build upon the success of the more than 8,000 postcards we delivered to the senior officials of the EPA last year. This year the art of 12-year-old Charlotte from Glenside, Pennsylvania will be on the cover of our Vote for Climate Hope Pledge Cards. Between now and November 1st, UCC churches from across the country will be collecting the pledges of those committed to voting their values in November. We know people are more likely to vote when (a) it is connected to a cause they care about, (b) they make a commitment to others vote, and (c) they get a reminder to vote near the time of the election. Learn more at our online kickoff event! Register online here.

UCCMA 2024 Conference

Conference 2024, the national biennial gathering of the United Church of Christ Musicians Association (UCCMA), will take place July 10-13, 2024 at the First Congregational Church of Greenwich, Connecticut. Designed for church musicians, choral and handbell choir members and worship leaders, the three-day event includes workshops, plenary sessions, worship services, evening entertainment and networking opportunities. The conference’s theme, “A place at the table,” inspired the planning for the entire conference experience. Our goal is to send participants home reenergized with lots of new resources and ideas to use in their local congregations. This conference is open to all. Learn more here.

Stewardship Materials Now Available

United Church of Christ

The new United Church of Christ stewardship materials are now available from UCC Resources to help congregations tell their story while making a request for financial support. The theme for 2024 is “Imagine Together.” This package of materials helps people understand the impact congregations can make in communities when they are supported. The materials include eight complete worship services, hymn suggestions, sermon starters from eight different authors, plus additional faith formation sessions for children, youth, and adults. “Imagine Together” provides practical tools such as logos, commitment cards, bulletin inserts, and letters. Campaign guidance for every step of a year-round or seasonal effort helps leaders make the best use of these robust materials for their specific context and size.
