Fairfax wins storm water cleaning funds

Fairfax’s Public Works Department applied for a Marin County Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program (MCSTOPPP) grant and won funding to install storm water trash capture devices in several downtown locations. Look for work to be starting in the next few weeks near Bolinas Road between Park Road and Broadway, and on Merwin Avenue.

This is a big deal! The trash capture devices will help us combat trash, chemicals, and other pollutants from entering Fairfax’s creeks and waterways. Special thanks to MCSTOPP for their help with this project.

Recently, Fairfax community members came together to celebrate SoulSail: the new kinetic sculpture in Fairfax Parkade created by local artist in residence, Susan Pascal Beran. Thanks to everyone who joined in the celebration!
