Scene Study with Jonathan Lipnicki Begins June 13

A summer session of Scene Study, taught by longtime professional actor and Critic's Choice Award-winner Jonathan Lipnicki , begins a 6-week session June 13. The class is held weekly from 7:00-9:30 pm and is open to beginning to advanced actors aged 18+.

Dig deep and push yourself in this popular Factory class. 

After rising to stardom as a child actor, starring in such films as JERRY MAGUIRE, STUART LITTLE, LIKE MIKE and THE LITTLE VAMPIRE, Jonathan was a box office draw. He took a short hiatus to be a regular teenager, and then returned to acting, studying at the prestigious Playhouse West in Los Angeles.

Jonathan is an amazing teacher. Very supportive, always encouraging, and gentle with all. But he is also able to help actors dig deeper to find truthful, more interesting choices in their characters and scenes.

Using pages from film and television, actors will perform each week and receive critique and coaching from an instructor who brings real-world, present-day industry insight into the classroom

Next Adult Demo Reel Camp August 21-25

There is a reason actors from across the country travel to The Actor Factory to get their custom-created demo reels: it's because nobody does them quite like us. Our demo reels look exactly as if they were taken from studio film, network dramas, quirky streaming comedies, Hallmark Christmas films and indie dramas. The next demo reel camp for adults aged 18+ is slated for August 21-25, and enrollment is underway.

The Actor Factory has written, filmed and edited over 1,500 reels over the past 10 years, and would be more than happy to create the footage you need to best highlight you!

Let's face it: getting the right demo reel footage for your casting profile or website isn't exactly easy. Sometimes you wait forever to get the scenes from that short film or feature you shot, or maybe the footage you do receive does not show the full range of the actor you are.

That's why hundreds of actors from around the country have trusted The Actor Factory Demo Reel Camp to get them the custom-created footage they need. Our reels are crafted towards whatever genre you choose. From television procedurals, Hallmark holiday movies, hard-hitting dramas, indie comedies, action, adventure or romantic comedies. Just tell the Factory staff what you need and our skilled writers will put pen to paper to write the one-minute scene just for you.

Serve as scene partners for other campers, and extras to help fill out the scene. Other companies have copied our format, but nobody produces the quality  demo reels like The Actor Factory.

STORYLINE:

A romantic comedy about a woman strapped for cash, facing a need for new tires while still trying to make good on a promise made to an interesting man in need.

BREAKDOWN OF ROLES

[ELLE] 32 to 40 years old, all ethnicities woman. Confoundingly fluid, as strategic as she is chaotic, caught in that loop. Weirdo craftsperson, does lighting for film, and at the moment of this script has a van loaded down with g&e gear. Films Both Days

[KETCH] 35 to 45 years old, all ethnicities man. Straggler-man in his late 30’s/early 40s, gangly, sly coyotefoxdog but gentle on a dime, as raggedy as the van, oddly handsome. Neither performative, submissive, aggressive, nor naieve. Floating in the middle, on his own raft. Films Both Days

[MARCUS] 35 to 50 years old, Hispanic man. Tire shop mechanic, Spanish-speaking, ready to make a dollar but not at your expense. Actor needs to be very comfortable (even actively working!) in a tire shop or as a car mechanic- must make a 5-pointed lug nut star like it’s second nature, because we will see this. Films 1 Day
