It's Kitten season - Don't Kit-nap!

ADOPT ME: MEET SADIE

Hello, my name is Sadie. I am a young Shepherd mix and have quite the history!

I'm originally from Tulsa and I came to Windsor on a transport with a bunch of other dog friends. This was a couple of years ago, and I was adopted and went to a great home. But mom ended up having to bring me back to the shelter because she was moving and sadly no pets were allowed... She told me she knew I was going to find the best home, so here I am looking for it!

I don't think I was well taken care of wherever I originally came from because I can be a bit nervous with new people... I do warm quickly and overall I really am a super sweet and loving young girl. But I struggle a bit...more so with new men, so the people here suspect something went down with a man at some point in my life.

I am looking for a calm and respectful household with humans that have the time to work on proper training and socialization for a young girl like me. I do well with dog friends, though I don't always like to share my valuables in a home setting with them so a home without other doggos may be best. I'm not sure about cats and tend to bark at them, so if you have a dog-savvy cat in the home, the humans here can discuss how to properly introduce us. As far as kids go, I haven't been around too many of them, but thinking respectful kiddos may be best.

I love going for walks, playing, and cuddling up with my person. I am a super-loving, loyal, and VERY smart girl.

I know I will make someone very very happy!! Is that person you??

Please note, we will be closed on Friday, April 7 and Sunday, April 9 so that our staff can enjoy the Easter holidays with their families. Don't worry, we still have dedicated staff coming in to care for our furry friends during this time!

Our first microchip clinic of the year is right around the corner! We're staying with our popular drive-thru event format that lets you have your dog, cat, or rabbit microchipped without leaving your vehicle. This microchip clinic will take place on Sunday, April 16 from 11am to 1pm at the Libro Centre - thank you to the Town of Amherstburg for hosting (the clinic is open to anyone though)!

The cost is still a bargain at $20 (cash only).

There's never been a better time to #protectyourpet with permanent identification!

P.S. Don't worry if you were waiting for a chip clinic in Windsor. We will be holding another one this summer in Windsor!
