Health and Safety Excellence (HSEp) Program Shows Success

Between January and May 2024, 163 firms earned a total of $1,068,742.94 in rebates through IHSA’s Health and Safety Excellence program (HSEp).

Firms successfully completed 51 action plans, with an average of four topics per action plan. Each “topic” represents the development and implementation of a critical component of an occupational health and safety management system through the plan, do, check, and act process. The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) validates these topics. In total, firms completed 201 individual topics.

As well, firms with fewer than 100 employees completed 68% of those action plans—which qualified them for double rebates under the smaller business incentives.
