PRAISE THE LORD
I have had a severe hearing loss for a number of years. When I got my first pair of hearing aids, I was so excited because I could hear sounds that I had not heard for a long time. One of those sounds was the singing of the birds. What a delight it was to hear them sing again.
I have whistled since I was a little girl. I have often mimicked the songs that birds sing, and they would respond and actually sing back to my sound. I think of their music as their way of singing praise unto the Lord.
Nature also sings. When the wind blows through the trees, you often hear sounds. It reminds me of Isaiah 55:12 where Isaiah prophesies what will happen to Israel when they repent. It says, “For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
Oh, how awesome to think that the mountains and hills sing, and the trees clap their hands. They do not have to be told to praise God, for they do it without thought.
On the other hand, we should give much thought to giving praise to our Lord. He saved us, and redeemed us from destruction, he supplies our every need, and is closer than any brother. There is so much to thank him for, so let us be reminded of Psalm 150:6 where it says, “Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the Lord.”
Isn’t this a good time to praise the Lord?
GOD BLESS YOU
