A SERVANT’S HEART

As we look around us, we see that the world we live in is a “what about me” world. It is full of Me, Me, Me. Jesus said if we wanted to be great in His kingdom, we must become the servant of all. (Mark 10:44)

Let’s reflect on the story of the Good Samaritan.  A person was left for dead on the road of life, wounded by thieves, his clothes stripped off from him and his possessions were stolen.

A priest and a Levite saw him but looked the other way. A Samaritan stopped, cleansed his wounds, and took him to a place of refuge—and paid the bill!  The Jews looked down on the Samaritans because they were considered half breeds. Yet, in spite of this the Samaritan did what was necessary while the religious people looked the other way.

There are lost and dying people apart from Christ just outside our Church door. They have been wounded, broken, and stripped of their worldly goods, and for the most part the world doesn’t care. We can make the difference. We can be Jesus’ arms and hands extended to those that don’t know Him, or we can be the ones that look the other way. 

The great Commission of our Lord commands us to go into all the world, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom. If you are already doing this, Praise the Lord, but if not, isn’t this a good time to make a change in your life, and be a servant for Jesus?
