B.E.S.T. Standards for Mathematics Training
NEFEC is currently providing a three-part professional learning series (began January 26th and will conclude April 8th) for the implementation of the new Florida B.E.S.T. Standards. Over 60 district administrators, coaches, school-based administrators, and classroom teachers have worked together to prepare for this transition.
The Florida B.E.S.T. Standards provide a new level of clarity and a plethora of supporting documentation as a part of the new standards adoption. These resources work together to support the new standards. During the professional learning series educators spend time looking at the natural progressions and alignment of the new standards, identifying content that may need to be addressed the year prior to implementation, and develop a plan for implementation with a system to monitor the success of implementation.
As we wrap up this series, educators will begin planning for conversations with the larger audience back in their districts and schools.
