The Foundation for Rural Education Excellence, a registered 501 (C)(3) organization, was founded in 1998 to facilitate philanthropic support for rural school districts of the North East Florida Educational Consortium (NEFEC): Baker, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Nassau, Putnam, Suwannee, and Union Counties as well as Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind and PK Yonge Developmental Research School. Working collaboratively, our mission is to enhance academic success and career opportunities for rural students in northeast Florida.
2023 Teen Health & Resource Fair 
On Friday April 7th, FDLRS NEFEC joined with the Florida Department of Health in Lafayette County for the 2023 Teen Health & Resource Fair held at Lafayette High School.

Baker County Celebrates Legacy Elementary
On April 13th, Superintendent Sherrie Raulerson and the Baker County Education Foundation hosted a celebration gala for the completion of Legacy Elementary School in Macclenny. The program included recognition of legislators and key stakeholders who secured full funding for this incredible project, culminating an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm for what’s to come on the new state-of-the-art campus.

NEFEC is proud to partner with Baker County School District and eager to watch the legacy that will be built at Legacy Elementary School.
