Join us for this FREE webinar sponsored by the Southern California Genealogical Society. The Jamboree Extension Series allows genealogists from around the world to take advantage of the types of sessions that will be offered at the 42nd Annual Southern California Genealogy Jamboree in Burbank, California, on June 10-12, 2011. The Jamboree Extension Series is offered as a service to the genealogical community.

About Our Presentation:

Discover how your not-so-wealthy New England ancestors may have left behind a wealth of information found in town poverty records. Come find out about "strangers taken in," "warning out" and settlement law. Marian Pierre-Louis will take you into the depths of New England town records to reveal the hard to find information about your elusive ancestors.

Why is a Southern California genealogical society offering a session about New England? One of the joys of living in Southern California is that for most of us, our ancestors came from some place else. New England researchers are found throughout the US and the world.

About our Speaker:

Marian Pierre-LouisMarian Pierre-Louis is a House Historian and Genealogical Lecturer who specializes in southern New England research.  She frequently speaks at conferences, societies and libraries on New England topics ranging from house history research, African American research and a broad range of genealogical topics.

Marian is the conference organizer for the New England Regional Genealogical Conference, which will be held April 6-10 in Springfield, Massachusetts. We are very fortunate to be able to bring Marian to our extension series during what is a very busy time for her.
