We're Haunted!
 Did you know that Sengelmann Hall is haunted?
Yes, we're haunted! The floorboards creak and sometimes we hear voices upstairs when no one is there! The staff and a few locals can certainly tell many stories of late night encounters and bizarre technical issues that have happened at Sengelmann Hall. WHO YA GONNA CALL? Ghost Investigators will be visiting the Hall this summer to check out Sengelmann Hall's spirit activity! We promise to keep you updated! (And for those of you, who have asked about our feature on The Haunted, the minute they send us the link - we promise to post it!) Have you seen or heard a ghost at Sengelmann Hall? There have been a handful of actual "sightings" at Sengelmann Hall. If you see or hear a ghost walking or dancing around the Hall, please contact us immediately! Sengelmann Hall is a fully restored 1890's Texas Dance Hall & Bakery, located in Schulenburg, Texas - halfway between Houston and San Antonio and down the road from Austin. Join us for live music and dancing, step up to the bar for a classic pre-prohibition cocktail, and enjoy authentic home cooked cuisine with a Euro-Texas twist. For generations, couples met here, married here and danced here every weekend as they built their lives together.
Carry on the Texas dance hall tradition by joining us for a kolache, or holding your wedding, reception or private event held at Sengelmann Hall. And don't forget to check out our music schedule - we offer live music during our Big Weekend or Holiday Shows.

FAQ for Sengelmann Fans
1. When is the Bakery Open? We are open Wed-Saturday from 6am-3pm for as long as you'll have us! We feature made-from-scratch baked pastries, desserts and bread, including our Old World Style Velke (8") Kolaches, assorted smaller Kolaches with fresh fruit toppings, Pigs-in-a-Blanket, Shiner Beer Bread, Caraway Rye Bread, fresh rolls, Shiner Black Cake, a variety of delicious cupcakes, including our Pineapple Upside Down Cupcakes and of course, Miss Sharon's famous Strudel. We serve a full breakfast and lunch menu. During private events in the restaurant and dance hall, we will open the bakery for dinner. Come try our fresh fruit tarts this summer!
2. How do we know when you will have live music? Well, give us a call! 979-743-2300 and we'll let you know what we have planned! Also, please check our music schedule for upcoming dates and performances. Are you our Facebook Friends? How about Myspace? Twitter? We update those social sites frequently!  
3. What is the capacity of Sengelmann Hall? We can fit up to 400 in the dance hall and add another 400-500 downstairs in the dining room, saloon and the biergarten. Please call Heather Taylor, if you are interested in booking a wedding, private party or family reunion at our facility.
4. Can I book my party for a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday? We will open most any day, if possible! We will customize a menu to accommodate your budget and open up nearly any day of the week, if it makes sense! So please drop by and let's talk about how we can make your party affordable and fun!
5. What is bottle Service? Bottle Service is when a patron purchases a whole bottle of his/her favorite spirit and we bring the bottle, garnishes, glasses, ice and mixers to your table. Great for groups! We have a variety of premium liquors on our menu including: Grey Goose, Crown Royal, Bacardi, and Jack Daniels.
6. When are your office hours? Our official Office Hours are Wed-Saturday from 10am-6pm , but we'll meet you at the Hall most anytime, if we can! Please do not hesitate to contact us for special arrangements.
7. When are you closed? WE ARE ALWAYS CLOSED ON LABOR DAY, THANKSGIVING DAY, CHRISTMAS EVE, CHRISTMAS DAY, NEW YEARS DAY, MEMORIAL DAY & JULY 4TH.
8. When will you host another polka dance? We open on Sundays for special occasions only. During the year, we will be booking special Polka Sunday Dances for our polka lovers! Please check our schedule for upcoming dances. We also open for Mother's Day and host Gospel Brunch on Sundays, too! Stay tuned!
9. How can we (my band) play at Sengelmann Hall? All musicians should send hard copy press kits with a current demo to Sengelmann Hall - Attn: Heather Taylor, P.O. Box 399, Schulenburg, TX 78956. No electronic submissions will be accepted. Every year we will be booking 4-6 Big Weekend Shows, but will keep all bands in mind for a special Saturday night, private events or holiday shows. MUSICIANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND A THIRD THURSDAY ACOUSTIC JAM SESSION SO WE CAN GET TO KNOW YA!
10. What do we need to do if we want to have our wedding at Sengelmann Hall? Call us! We have bookings all the way into 2012, so if you are interested in having your wedding, reception, or rehearsal dinner at Sengelmann Hall, please call us, so we can meet up lickity-split! Limited dates still available in 2011.
