pajamas

The Fairfield Arts Center (FAC) is partnering with the Connecticut chapter of the Pajama Program, a 501 3 non-for-profit organization that provides new pajamas and books to children who have been abandoned by their families and are currently living in shelters or group homes.

Founded by Genevieve Piturro ten years ago, the Pajama Program has distributed over 880,000 pajamas and books to children across the United States through its 79 affiliate chapters; with over 513,000 children living in foster care alone, the need for these articles is great.

For the next several months before winter sets in, FAC (located at 70 Sanford Street, Fairfield CT) will be collecting pj's and books for the Program, all sizes are needed but particularly those for teens (small-extra large).  Please be generous, for many, these basic items are life saving.

Middle Schoolers On The Move

Fairfield's Tomlinson Middle School Walkathon is set for Friday, October 7th.  This great outdoor walk around school grounds energizes the entire school and is the PTA's only fundraiser of the year.  This year's goal is to raise $20,000 which will go to help pay for student enrichment programs at TMS.  Some of these programs include field trips, cultural and fine arts programs, author visits, teacher grants, books/software for our library, and much more.  Tomlinson is currently looking for sponsors to help them reach this goal, with sponsorship opportunities as little as $100.  If you have a business in the area, please consider donating to this meaningful event.  Contact: Mary Ellen Frango at frangofam@aol.com
