Christ Episcopal Warblers
One Family Concert 2015 benefits FPCC
Dear FPCC Supporters,
FPCC network choirs did a wonderful job of lifting their voices in praise at the third annual One Family One Promise One Song benefit concert.  For those of you who didn't make it the concert, you missed a wonderful evening.  Ten network congregations participated in bringing a special musical event to Cobb County.  The event was hosted by Unity North Atlanta and featured a song written for Family Promise about homelessness by Will Hodge, a member of Unity North.  Jennie Scott, concert coordinator, must be commended for her months of hard work and detailed labor, which paid off in an enjoyable evening.   Special thanks to Unity North Atlanta,  Pilgrimage UCC, Covenant Presbyterian, Ahmadiyaa Muslim Community, Bahai of Cherokee, Acworth UMC, Zion Baptist, St. Catherine's Episcopal, Mount Zion UMC,  and Christ Episcopal for sending their talented voices and musicians.  Allan Mullinax from Pilgrimage UCC was the director for the combined FPCC choir.  Harrison Printing of Marietta donated the cost of printing the concert programs.  This benefit concert raised almost $5,000 for FPCC.  Thanks to all involved for such an inspiring evening of entertainment.

Our August Graduate Family
Our family of six graduated into their own home after being in our rotational shelter for three months.  The network blessed this family with furniture, household items, clothes and food to start their journey. 2 Men and a Truck of Marietta/Woodstock provided moving services for our mom for free.  She told us "This is the first time I have ever had movers, and it was AWESOME!"  Pictured here is the only girl among the children of this family.  She is modeling her special gifts received through our partner, Simple Needs GA and the "My Birthday Matters" program.

Shelter Availability
We are not currently accepting families in the rotational shelter.  But, please feel free to refer families to us.  Availability may change before the next newsletter arrives in your inbox.  We do keep a waiting list and will provide advice and referrals to anyone who calls.

Volunteer Training
FPCC volunteers closely interact with our guest families during their time in our rotational shelter.  We require our volunteers to start their journey to helping their neighbors by attending a training about our program.  Volunteer trainings are every 2nd Tuesday of the month.   The next training is scheduled for October 13, 2015 at East Cobb UMC from 7-9 pm. Our trainers , Tim Schneller, Christine Schneller and Deelee Freeman, will also provide training at your congregation or organization if needed.  Contact training@familypromisecobbcounty.org if you are interested in attending one of our sessions.
Thanks again for making a difference!

Sincerely,
Camilla Worrell
