Jodie Gatti Promoted to Social Enterprise Manager
Juneau, AK  (September 13, 2019) – Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Tlingit & Haida) is pleased to announce the promotion of Jodie Gatti to Social Enterprise Manager.

In this position, Jodie will be responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and promotion of the Tribe’s existing social enterprises (Sacred Grounds Café, Sacred Shine Auto Detailing, Smokehouse Catering and the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall). She'll also work closely with Tlingit & Haida's Business & Economic Development (BED) department to evaluate self-sustaining business opportunities with a social development impact that can provide employment opportunities to tribal citizens.

“Through the social enterprises of the Tribe, we are in a unique position to help our tribal citizens realize their potential and gain not only employment, but also the skills necessary to carry them forward,” shared Tlingit & Haida President Richard (Chalyee Éesh) Peterson. Jodie has the education and experience to ensure our citizens find the opportunities and benefits of working for the Tribe.”

Jodie previously worked as the Tribe’s Business & Economic Development Coordinator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Alaska Anchorage and has held internships with Department of Revenue and First Alaskans Institute.

Jodie was born and raised in Ketchikan, Alaska and is of Haida and Tlingit descent. She is from the Haida Yahkw Janáas clan (Raven/Shark House) and is the granddaughter of Frances Peele Demmert and Franklin Demmert Sr.; daughter of Mark & Jiji Gatti and Victoria Demmert Gatti; sister to Sarah Kooy, Dennis Demmert, Joy Demmert and Heather Gatti; and auntie to Ayuq, Ulaa, Kayaani, Emma and Gracie.
