Don't Forget:

Due to the impending weather conditions last Wednesday, we had postponing our Appreciation Dinner to tomorrow, March 1st at 5:30pm. Our congregation appreciates our little ones' teachers SO MUCH!!

Please plan to join us for chili, cinnamon rolls, and Costco cake TOMORROW NIGHT!!

Social Concerns Committee:

We need your help with bringing food for the Have a Heart for Hunger! - We have extended the Food Collection through Wednesday, March 1st!

Our 11th Annual "Have a Heart for Hunger" campaign will extend through Wednesday, March 1, so there is still time to bring food or cash to FLC for the Washington County Food Pantry so that we can reach our goal of 1,200 pounds! Prior to this last weekend we were still 280 pounds short of our goal. Remember that the theme for this year's ingathering is all things relating to soups--and cash is always welcome, as the Food Pantry can make the money stretch further than we can, since they are able to buy products wholesale. Cash gifts can be taken to the church office or placed in the jar next to the exhibit near the Welcome Center. What a wonderful boost this will be for our neighbors in need!

THANK YOU to ALL who helped staff the WASHINGTON COUNTY RECYCLING CENTER on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25!  Fortunately, we had enough volunteers to do a great job! And a BIG THANK-YOU goes to ALL of our members who work there EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND!  Your participation is a great way to help care for this planet which God gave us and for which we are to be stewards!

EQUAL EXCHANGE FAIR TRADED PRODUCTS will again be available for purchase this coming weekend on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5, and will remain available through Wednesday, March 8.  This is an opportunity to buy products that we use regularly, and to help support 3rd World small farmers, so that they can get fair prices for their products and be able to feed their families and strengthen their communities.

Ruth Circle

ATTENTION-- ALL members of RUTH CIRCLE BIBLE STUDY GROUP and any other women who would like to join us:  Our next meeting will be at Johansen Manor in the Social room on Tuesday, March 14, at 2:00 P.M.   We will be continuing our study of the Ten Commandments.  Ellen Whitaker will be our lesson leader and Katy Flynn will be our hostess, providing refreshments. Please bring your Bibles and your "Gather" magazine if you have one. If you do not have one, come anyway.

Choir News

But what if I can't sing?  A tiny percentage of the population truly cannot sing. Most of us have been given the air and vocal cords we need, and what we may lack is confidence. Perhaps a negative experience affected your willingness to sing. We can develop and learn how to sing at any age.  Choir can be one opportunity to explore the voice you didn't know you had.

For more information and questions, contact Vince, at vkrysl@firstlutheranblair.org

Communion Update:

Thank you for helping with this accommodation for Pastor Glen: because it is difficult for Pastor to bring communion to members in the pews, if you find it physically difficult to come forward during communion, we invite you to pick up the communion elements as you come into the Sanctuary and receive them during the communion liturgy when the Pastor indicates.

Scammers are pretending to be a pastor, rabbi, priest, imam, or bishop. They’re asking worshipers for gift card contributions for a worthy cause.

These appeals are fraudulent. If you receive a phone call, text, or email asking for amazon gift cards, itunes, etc. Feel free to contact the church office to verify. Do not share any personal details.

If you or someone you know paid a scammer with a gift card, report it as soon as possible. Call the card company and tell them the gift card was used in a scam. Here is contact information for some of the gift card companies that scammers use most often. Then, tell the FTC about it at ftc.gov/complaint. Your reports may help law enforcement agencies launch investigations that could stop imposters and other fraudsters in their tracks.
