FLAGGING OPERATION HOURS ON GREENWICH ROAD PERIODICALLY EXTENDED AS PART OF INTERCHANGE PROJECT
VIRGINIA BEACH –  Starting next week, the Virginia Department of Transportation will periodically extend the hours of the ongoing flagging operations on Greenwich Road to complete a traffic shift related to the I-64/264 Interchange Improvements Project.

Lane closures under flagger control will be in place continuously beginning as early as Friday, Nov. 22, through Tuesday, Nov. 26. During this time, flaggers will manage traffic flow on Greenwich Road and direct motorists around the lane closures, 24-hours a day. Crews will be mindful of any impacts to surrounding streets, with an additional flagger stationed near Witchduck Road to monitor traffic in that corridor.

Access to businesses and properties along Greenwich Road will be maintained at all times.

Two-way traffic with no lane closures will be reinstated on Wednesday, Nov. 27, in compliance with VDOT’s holiday weekend lane closure restrictions.

The continuous flagging operations will begin again as early as Monday, Dec. 2, and are set to conclude on Sunday, Dec. 15.
