"Uniting Communities"
| |
Dear FJUHSD Staff, Students, and Community,
It’s great to see students back on campus and fully participating in the many offerings across each school site. We began the 2024/25 school year by welcoming 12,500 students and 1,200 staff members back to campus. As we move into the school year, we are excited to watch as students explore and experience the quality education that our FJUHSD team of educators provides. Our theme this month, which we will focus on throughout the school year, is "Uniting Communities." This theme highlights our commitment to fostering a strong, supportive, and inclusive environment across all our school sites. We believe that by working together, we can create a community where everyone feels connected and valued. I want to thank our parents for attending the Back to School Nights that were held in August and we look forward to seeing the rest of you at a Back to School Night in September. Be sure to check your school’s calendar and social media for those dates. Additionally, we invite you to view our First Day Of School Videos by clicking on the link below to see the energy and excitement across the District at all of our schools. We look forward to a collaborative and inspiring school year, supporting our students and working hard to ensure their success. Let's continue to Unite as a Community and make this school year a great one!
Warm regards,
Steve McLaughlin, Ed.D.
Superintendent

More Than A Meal
While it is true all students receive free meals (breakfast and lunch) during the 2024/25 school year, officially eligible students may receive other benefits such as reduced costs for internet access, Summer-EBT/SUN Bucks, EBT cards, SAT fee waivers, some college applications and AP exam fee reductions. All benefits described in the More Than a Meal program will require an eligibility letter. While meals are free for all students, families should complete an income survey form in Aeries. Eligibility letters will be provided upon request from the Food Services department. To learn more, please visit our District website at www.fjuhsdfoodservices.org for more information.

Excitement is in the air as several major school construction projects reach impressive milestones! Troy High School proudly unveiled its brand-new eight-classroom building, officially ending the era of portable classrooms and ushering in a state-of-the-art facility. Over at Sunny Hills, the new agriculture building is rapidly approaching completion, with just a few final touches needed inside and out such as low-voltage work and remaining asphalt installation. Fullerton Union High School is also making great strides with its pool project—concrete decks, tiling, and diving boards are taking shape, while the concession building and mechanical areas move closer to finishing touches. With vibrant new facilities and updates underway, the educational landscape is set for an exciting transformation for our students!
