US-FDA cleared ComASP® Cefiderocol

The ComASP® Cefiderocol 0.008-128 is a quantitative broth microdilution method intended for the in vitro determination of antimicrobial susceptibility of bacteria. ComASP® Cefiderocol consists of polystyrene microtiter panels containing lyophilized concentrations of cefiderocol and tubes of media (iron-depleted, cation-adjusted Mueller Hinton broth), which are used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) in μg/mL using overnight incubation and manual reading procedures. ComASP® Cefiderocol at concentrations of 0.008-128 μg/mL should be interpreted at 16-20 hours of incubation.

ComASP® Cefiderocol can be used to determine the MIC of cefiderocol against the following microorganisms for which cefiderocol has been shown to be active clinically and in-vitro according to the FDA drug approved label:

Acinetobacter baumannii complex

Escherichia coli

Enterobacter cloacae complex

Klebsiella pneumoniae

Proteus mirabilis

Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Serratia marcescens

Heralding Education on Antimicrobial Resistance

Date: 5-6 October 2023

Venue: Liofilchem, Roseto degli Abruzzi, Italy

Registration Registration form

HEAR courses comprise an interactive two day session with lectures and laboratory work.

An international faculty interacts with 20 participants from several Countries. HEAR allows for effective exchange of clinical experiences and expertise among clinicians, pharmacists and microbiologists with the patient's need utmost in mind. Liofilchem organizes several courses per year that cover a variety of topics with the goal of sharing the latest information to promote the rational use of antimicrobial agents. To address some of the resistance, diagnostic and treatment challenges faced by infectious disease specialists, ICU clinicians, clinical pharmacists and microbiologists, Liofilchem has invested in non-profit HEAR courses dedicated to education in the field of Antimicrobial Resistance Testing.

Food & beverage applications

Rapid Y/M Agar

Selective medium for enumeration of yeasts and moulds

Rapid Y/M Agar is a medium used for selective isolation and enumeration of yeasts and moulds from food, animal feeding stuffs, water and environmental samples. The medium formulation allows to accelerate detection compared to other media commonly recommended for cultivation of yeasts and moulds. Unlike DRBC and DG18, which are used for high (ISO 21527-1) and low (ISO 21527-2) water activity products, respectively, Y/M Agar can be used with samples regardless of their water activity.

Quanti-CultiControl

for growth promotion testing of culture media

The Quanti-CultiControl are lyophilized, quantitative microorganism preparations to be used in industrial laboratories for Quality Control purposes. Processed as directed, these preparations provide a challenge of <100 CFU per 0.1 mL, which is a concentration usually suitable for several pharmaceutical applications, including growth promotion testing of culture media to be employed in sterility testing. These microorganism preparations are derived from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC®).

The Quanti-CultiControl are suitable for the Growth Promotion Test recommended by the international Pharmacopoeiae, without need of intermediate dilution steps, since each rehydrated suspension generates less than 100 UFC for 0.1 mL inoculum. Each suspension (1 mL) allows 10 inocula.
