Fort Bend ISD celebrates National Bow Tie Day, salute to superintendent  

All across the district, students, teachers and staff added a touch of class to their outfits by wearing bow ties on Wednesday to celebrate National Bow Tie Day and as a salute to FBISD Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith who typically wears them every day. 

Fort Bend ISD names six new members to district leadership team

During a recent meeting, the FBISD Board of Trustees approved six new members to the district’s leadership team.

Goodman Elementary teachers were surprised during a recent staff meeting when the Fort Bend Education Foundation announced that each would receive a $500 gift card to help outfit their classrooms. 

Fort Bend ISD to host Special Education Hiring Event Tuesday, September 10

Fort Bend ISD will host a Special Education Hiring Event on September 10, 2024 as it seeks qualified and dedicated staff members to lead and support student instruction throughout the district.

Candidates who are interested in Special Education teaching, instructional apprentice and aide positions are encouraged to attend the September 10 event to meet with hiring managers and learn more about the opportunities available during the current school year.

Volunteering just 30 minutes a week can make a lasting impact and provide a student with the encouragement they need to reach their full potential.

The big annual PTO-Booster Club Meeting is coming up on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the James Reese Career and Tech Center from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 

All PTO-Booster Club parents, staff and any interested supporters should plan to attend the meeting.

Topics to be addressed:

• How to start a new booster club on your campus
• How to reserve event space and other facilities
• How to file taxes and manage other financial needs

This year, the district is providing students with ID badges, which they are required to wear at all times at school and on buses.

The Fort Bend ISD Free and Reduced-Price Meals Application is now open for the 2024-25 school year and families can complete the application online at www.schoolcafe.com/fbisd. 

Only one application needs to be completed for each household.
