Dear FAN Reps,

Summer with all its fun, warmth, and greenery has come and gone, and we're headed firmly into Fall and the return of school, cooler weather, and a favorite harbinger of fall: mums.

Thank you all for a wonderful All-Grantee Meeting. We enjoyed seeing so many of you and hearing about all the incredible work you've been doing.

Congratulations to our Minnesota FAN, Melissa Winger on the publishing of her book "Who Cares?: The Real Patient Experience" Melissa's story highlights the importance of family-centered care, and is a great read for families and clinicians alike!

All Grantee Meeting 2023 Updates

Thank you all for your wonderful contributions to the 2023 All Grantee Meeting. It was awesome seeing so many of you, and we had a wonderful time learning from you all in our various FAN sessions. We'd love to get your feedback on the All Grantee Meeting, and we encourage you to fill out the feedback survey. If you want to provide feedback to Jennifer and Sarah directly, please e-mail them.

Did you have a headshot taken at the meeting? Andrew is working on editing the images now, and he should be sending them out in the next six or so weeks. If you don't receive your headshot by Thanksgiving, please e-mail Jennifer.

Looking for PowerPoints and handouts from all the wonderful sessions at the meeting? Everything is now posted on the EMSC website!

Action Items

1. Opportunity to Collaborate with AAP

The AAP is recruiting young adults and caregivers who have experienced trauma to serve on a team helping providers understand the importance of trauma informed care. Young-adults and caregivers have separate applications and should submit by October 6.

2. PPN FAN Requests

Several PPN domains have reached out to engage FANs in their work. Keep an eye on your e-mail for the completed FAN Request Forms. The completed request forms will help you decide if this engagement opportunity is right for you!

3. Monthly FAN Feature

Would you like to be featured in the Pulse as our FAN of the month? Featured FANs provide a headshot and answer two questions about family-centered care. Please reach out to Jennifer if you'd like to be included!
