Darrell Mansfield

"I actually attempted suicide when I was 21.  I slit my wrists with a butcher knife on the alter of a church..."

Darrell has special empathy for those suffering with mental illness, and has fought his own personal battles to overcome depression. He has been a spokesperson for Christians with mental illness, urging them and churches to treat mental illness as a medical problem.

His soulful voice and harmonica have amazed and inspired audiences for over 30 years. Darrell performs regularly at NAMIWALK events in California. He served as Grand Marshall of the NAMIWALK at Diamond Valley Lake in 2009.

Dedicate a Sign in Memory of a Loved One
As a special part of the 2014 Orange County Out of the Darkness Community Walk, survivors of suicide loss can dedicate a sign in memory of a loved one. These signs will be placed along the Walk route as a memorial to those we have lost and as a reminder of why we fight to bring the issue of suicide out of the darkness and help those who may still be struggling.

For a $50 donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), a sign will be created in memory of your loved one and personalized with a message or quote.
