FAITC Grants
TEACHER GRANTS

FAITC's Teacher Grant is open to general education and agriculture teachers in PreK - 12th grade who want to use agricultural concepts to teach core subject areas. Florida Agriculture in the Classroom’s Teacher Grant program strives to fund classroom projects that teach Florida school children about the importance of agriculture and introduce them to agricultural producers and representatives in their areas. APPLICATIONS DUE BY SEPT 30.

$500 SCHOOL GARDEN GRANTS

FAITC's School Garden Grant Program is designed to fund school garden projects that will educate Florida’s students about the importance of agriculture, healthier meal options and allow teachers to use a school garden to teach Florida standards. Those who receive funding for a school garden project will need to request a free copy of Gardening for Grades, Gardening for Nutrition and/or STEMming Up Gardening, books for teachers to help them get the most out of their school gardens, including tips on securing funding, planting Florida fruits and vegetables, and using the garden to teach more than a two dozen lesson plans and activities. Grant application will close October 31st or until all funds have been depleted.

School Garden Leadership Training Series

Since 2020, Florida Agriculture in the Classroom and UF/IFAS Extension Family Nutrition Program have partnered to host a series of School Garden Leadership Trainings. This training and networking experience is designed for Florida school garden stakeholders of all levels to build gardening confidence, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and strengthen garden programs for long-term success.

Discover Dairy Adopt a Cow - Register Now Through Sept 15th!

The Discover Dairy “Adopt a Cow” program is an exciting, year-long experience for your classroom. Throughout the program, you’ll get an inside look at dairy farming and be paired with a calf from a dairy farm in Florida. You’ll find out what her name is, when her birthday is, where she lives, and how the farmer takes care of her. You’ll also receive progress updates, photos of the cow, live chats from the farm, activity sheets for your students, suggested lessons that follow Common CORE standards, and even opportunities to write letters to your calf!
