New FL Abortion Law - What FPs Need to Know

FAFP Legal Counsel Chris Nuland, JD, outlines the legalities of the new abortion law, which recently took effect in Florida. This information is provided to ensure FAFP members are aware of the new standards of care, potential violations, as well as how Amendment 4 on the November ballot could impact this issue. The FAFP is also aware of the recent SCOTUS ruling on the legal right to challenge the accessibility of mifepristone as determined by the FDA and a federal judge's ruling on June 6 that found Florida's restrictions on gender-affirming treatment for children are unconstitutional. An update will be provided once more information is known regarding the impact on Florida law.
