2024 Governing Board Nominating Committee Application

Members of the Governing Board Nominating Committee (GBNC) must have the following skills, talents, time available, and call:

  • A commitment to the continuing success of MCC around the world
  • A willingness to commit a significant amount of time to the process
  • Flexibility to work during a variety of hours in order to incorporate the global perspectives and input of committee members around the world.
  • Ability to provide up to 20 hours per month, gradually increasing during the interview phase, from May 2024 thru April 2025
  • Experience working on teams
  • Ability to maintain and honor confidentiality
  • Knowledge and experience leading organizations and supervising staff
  • Knowledge and experience working in the local church (optional)
  • Knowledge and experience in social justice advocacy (optional)
  • Knowledge and experience as clergy (optional)

  • Core competencies: Identify the core competencies you would bring to the Governing Board Nominating Committee
  • Leadership: List specific activities, training, and positions, which prove your leadership skills.
  • Have you served on a Nominating Committee (or other Executive Search Committee for another denomination, non-profit, academic and/or organization) before? If so, please describe your experience.
  • References: Provide three references including their name, title, email address, telephone. References should not include currently serving Governing Board members or MCC staff.
