Following a comprehensive public comment period, Freedom Transit will implement a new fare structure for our fixed route buses, effective July 1, 2024. This updated fare system will streamline our current zone structure, eliminate the need for riders to carry change, and align our rates with industry standards.

Fare Restructure:

Reducing the number of fare categories from four (4) to two (2)
Establishing a fare of $2.00 for all fixed route travel in Washington County
Establishing a fare of $4.00 for all fixed route travel to/from Allegheny County

To determine your eligibility for shared ride transportation service, create an account on the Find My Ride Apply Port a l and answer a few questions to find out what program/s you may qualify for. Once you know your eligibility, you can register for transportation using the online applications.

The Freedom Transit mobile app enables riders to purchase, manage, and redeem bus passes. Riders can plan their transit rides using the trip planner tool and view real-time bus arrival information from their smartphones.

Riders can link their Freedom Transit Smart Card to their mobile app account, enhancing flexibility when paying transit fare. Senior transit passes can also be uploaded onto a Freedom Transit Smart Card, ensuring a seamless boarding experience for both passengers and drivers.

Available to students aged 12-17, the pass allows unlimited trips on any fixed route bus in any zone through August 31, 2024. Spend the day at the Washington Park Pool or ride to the Montour Trail for a bike adventure.
