Hey Guys.
Still on the fence about a new Expert Amplifier? I have had one in the shack for a few months now. I do not get to get on the air like I would like but I can tell you these amps are the real deal.
These amplifiers are the pinnacle of performance, innovation and convenience. Let me share some of my experience and why I think these amps are a game changer.
As bad as I hate to admit it now, I have become an appliance operator. I work all the time. When I do get to get on the air I need my stuff to work. I need it to be easy and do not want any problems or leaning curves.
I have a 1.5K at home. I will soon get a 2K. These amplifiers have a built in antenna tuner that will match a 5:1 SWR. My antennas are not perfect. The automatic tuner, once set up, matches everything perfectly and almost instantly.
With a cable that Dan Tassell makes, it makes this amp fully automatic. It changes bands, follows your radio, tunes the antenna and almost makes it impossible to make a mistake.
Unlike other amps the Experts have a patented ALC circuit. It is more than just protection. SPE has harnessed the ALC connection. It is a key ingredient in the recipe for performance and protection. Overdriving LDMOS amplifiers is the biggest killer of them. With this ALC circuit and Dan's Cables you are pretty much safe. The Amp, believe it or not, will draw the power it needs from the radio. That is the only way that I can describe it.
Multiple antennas! Depending on the model you can hook either four or six antennas up to the amp. . This smart amp is capable of selecting and tuning ,if needed, any of the antennas for any band. It's actually easy to set up, even for an appliance operator.
You can actually hook two radios up to a single amplifier for SO2R operation. Imagine working a station on 40M and you hear a rare DX station coming from your other HF rig's receiver on another band and mode. No problem! just reach of and grab the other mic and instantly work him with legal limit from the same amp instantly.
The 1.3K and 1.5K amps are super portable too. They come with a travel case and are perfect for DXpeditions, Camping or tucking one away in the RV. They run on 120 volts or 220 with hardly any noticeable power difference.
The all have a built in power and SWR meter and plenty of protection.
I have had lot's of people say "Richard those amps are too expensive" If you really look at it and what you actually get they are not that bad. If you examine other amps that cost less just know that you are getting less. By the time that you buy the amp, the Antenna tuner, a high power coax switch, watt meter and all the RF prone cabling and coax you could easily spend over $10K on some brands. Think about all the real estate that will take up on your desk and the nightmare of cables spewing RF all over your shack. You will easily spend a hundred bucks on just ferrite beads and it wont be a neat install.
Think about it. No expensive, discontinued tubes. No Parts supply issues from companies that have been out of business for years. No tuning, loading or dipping the plate. No worries about over driving an amp that that is about to blow up at any minute. No loud blowers or fans. I am telling you, these amps are a dream.
I can help you get one. We do not normally discount them but I can help a little if paying by check, cash or bank wire.
I can also help you with trade ins. I will trade for those old green heathkits or even the more modern amps with impossible to find tubes. I will trade for most any ham gear and just about anything else. Tax? Keep in mind that in most states you are taxed on the difference if you have trade ins. Actually, many times people get money back when they trade. That's right, may times people get their trades to us, they walk out with an amp and a check. We trade for just about everything as long as it doesn't Eat.
You will actually save money by buying an Expert amp. If you go with another brand you will end up spending more. If you go with an older used amp you will end up spending more in the long run and once the tubes are totally obsolete and even some transistors now you just end up with a boat anchor that is almost worthless.
It really doesn't cost that much more to go first class. We have sold close to 30 experts in just a couple of months. Every single one is a Happy customer. Who wouldn't be?
The new Taurus is coming in September and October. We have 49 people on the waiting list. The list is getting longer every day. If you are thinking about a new 1500 Watt continuous Taurus call us and get on the list. It doesn't cost a penny to get on. You can cancel at any time.
Let me know how I can help you get one of these. A word of caution. If you just click and buy one on the website don't expect it to go out at once. Be expecting a call from me personally. I will first thank you for the business but them I want to check and make sure this is the amp for you. I have talked to a couple for customers and it was mutually decided that this amp may not be right for them. One customer decided to wait until he could get a different radio and the other wanted to wait on the new Taurus because he occasionally runs legal limit on digital modes and wants the smaller form factor of the Taurus
If you have questions give me a call. If I do not know the answer I will find out.
Again, these amps are perfect for the appliance operator but also very well suited for a demanding contest environment. I want to help all New Hams, Old Hams and every ham in North America to get one of these amazing amps.
I will be out of the office on Friday and Saturday of this week. I am traveling to Magnolia Texas for a training session with our new repair tech. I am not going to be working on them but I am constantly amazed by these amplifiers. I learn more every time I am around the techs. These are cutting edge amps, guys. There is nothing like it out there
Shoot us an email or leave me a message. I look forward to speaking with you soon and helping you get one of these amazing amplifiers. I have been helping hams professionally for over 15 years. I have been trading radios since I was twelve. I think I can help you too.
Thanks again,
